An actress and comedian, she became a ventriloquist on the advice of her mentor and lover Ken Campbell shortly before his death. She has toured her shows extensively across the globe, accompanied by her most faithful sidekick Monkey, and performed on many British TV shows including Live at the Apollo. She has also starred in Christopher Guest's series Family Tree, having previously had a cameo in his film For Your Consideration. She is married to Stan Stanley, and the couple have two children together.
