She made a documentary in 1997 about Willie Nelson for the TV channel PBS. She also made a documentary about the poet and singer / songwriter Leonard Cohen, called. Leonard Cohen: I'm Your Man. In 2006, she was awarded the Women in Film Dorothy Arzner Directors Award for her work on this film. She has a feature film in pre-production based on her own novel.
