Notable film roles include Rabbi Nachtner in the Coen Brothers' best-picture nominee A Serious Man (2009) and Colonel Sandurz in Mel Brooks' Spaceballs (1987). and his To Be or Not to Be (1983). Other credits include To Be or Not to Be (1983), Fletch (1985), Fletch Lives (1989), The Devil's Advocate (1997), and Trouble with the Curve (2012). George has guest starred on over 150 TV shows, and has been a series regular on nine. He is perhaps best known for his six seasons as Deputy D.A. Irwin Bernstein on Hill Street Blues (1981).
