A more unlikely couple you will struggle to see as Jean Arthur and John Wayne pair up in this rather fun comedy romance with spurs. Mollie is on a grand bus tour of the US until a stop in Oregon where she gets floored (literally) by a freshly bucked, handsome rodeo performer (Wayne) and off we go. This is a light-hearted outing for The Duke - soft lighting and a sensitive score help create quite a sophisticated environment for their - at times quite feisty - amour to develop. Never the most convincing of dialogues, and probably more remarkable for what it isn't than what it is, it is still quite an engaging little whimsy.
