Critic Reviews for Handsome Guys
This is essentially a Korean take on Tucker & Dale vs. Evil, albeit with a few notable twists. The biggest change is the introduction of a demonic goat that possesses the teenagers, and it’s in the final act where the film really separates itself. The ending veers into territory that feels closer to The Evil Dead crossed with The Exorcist, which is easily the most interesting departure from its inspiration. The deaths largely mirror those in Tucker & Dale, though they’re either not quite as well executed or tweaked for broader comedic effect. The humour is also more zany overall, which sometimes works against the film rather than in its favour. If you go in without having seen Tucker & Dale vs. Evil, you’ll likely have a much better time with this, and might even prefer it. While the original is undoubtedly more polished and better executed, I still had fun with this version—especially thanks to the unexpected changes in the final stretch
