Kay Francis is actually quite nasty and certainly steals the limelight in this gentle, sightly plodding, dark melodrama about a wealthy man (Cary Grant) who falls for her charms not realising that all she ever really wanted was his cash. Meantime he has fallen in love with "Julie Eden" (Carole Lombard) and we embark on a sort of emotional drama of deceit and divorce. It has some comical elements and the three stars along with the occasional contributions from Charles Coburn keep it going. It's all a bit of a soap-opera, but worth watching, though..
