I am extremely impressed by the quality of cut-throat satire in Paapam Cheyyathavar Kalleriyatte (Let Sinners Repent) that takes potshots at a variety of things prevalent in modern (Christian) weddings and the dual-faced behaviour of the people involved and the things they do in the name of money. There are plenty of LOL moments in here starting from the first frame which takes a very leisurely approach throughout the film, magnifying some of the best performances I have seen so far this year. I would even call the entire cast performance a triumph as the comedy manages to convey its flurry of messages loud and clear, aptly enhanced by good characterisation, smooth camera work, and engaging dialogues. Nonetheless, it is let down by a shabby climax that could have been righter and unambiguous. Yet, this one gets my thumbs up. An absolute merriment, the 2 hours you will spend on this. Even better if you are against the pomp and circumstance involved in fat Indian weddings. TN. (Watched and reviewing during its world television premiere on Asianet.)
