We have seen this multiple times before. An elderly couple, one of whom is in the grip of dementia of some sort, and the other not wanting to think about anything except keeping her at home. So that makes some of the plot predictable. Then again, the film is based on a true story, so I guess real life is sometimes predictable. But the acting is superb and there is the twist of the man wanting to build a smaller house with his own hands that would be more manageable for them. And there are a few moments that are gems, such as when the townspeople attend a funeral and the lead character’s reaction. So this is a quiet film well worth watching if you are in the mood for it.
