I just watched this on Netflix. I did not have any expectations going into it. It was not very good, unfortunately. Main reasons were that 8t was over-the-top from start to finish. Epic scene after epic scene without much supporting context. I think it can work in some cases but I dknt think it did here. You barely get a feel for the main characters, let alone the 20 supporting cast members, in this 2 hour movie. If they simplified the plot and went deeper into the core characters then it would be good. All of that is possible while still making it a little campy and not so serious. It missed the mark. I liken it to Armageddin with less character development. If you just want to watch epic visuals without much else, and that is totally fine with me, then this would be a good watch. The science fiction element is really interesting, so that was cool.
