Critic Reviews for Why Not Me?
"no but... since i was little, i was always told it's dirty. that it's abnormal." "malou, people have said the world was flat, jesus changed water into wine, martians had webbed feet, the chinese drowned their children... if we didn't forget what we were told as kids, we'd still sacrifice virgins to the sun gods." what a perfect movie about embracing your queerness and parents learning to accept their children. its witty, its clever, and i couldn't help but cheer every time something went right. i'm leaving this movie so happy. it's a mess but it's FUN. what an amazing hidden gem. also when they chugged alcohol, held hands, chanted, "we are pretty, we are proud, we are lesbians!" and then high fived and ran off to come out to their parents? life changing moment.
